CT600M

The CT600M is the supplementary page to the Company Tax Return for a company claiming the enhanced capital allowances available in the special tax sites of Freeports and Investment Zones.

Definition

The CT600M is the supplementary page to the Company Tax Return for a company claiming the enhanced capital allowances available in the special tax sites of Freeports and Investment Zones.

Who completes it

A company that claims either of these for a Freeport or Investment Zone tax site:

  • the enhanced structures and buildings allowance, 10% a year on the cost of a qualifying building or structure in place of the usual 3%;
  • the enhanced capital allowance, a 100% first-year allowance on new plant and machinery bought mainly for use in the tax site.

Box 143 on the CT600 is ticked to say the page is attached.

What it asks for

  • Each structure or building: the tax site, the address, the dates, the qualifying expenditure and the allowance claimed for the period.
  • Each plant and machinery claim: the tax site, the allowance claimed and any disposal value.

In Tax Optimiser

Enter the claims under Freeports in the Corp Tax workspace. The allowances are deducted in the computation, so do not also enter the same assets in the Capital Allowances section. The CT600M is filed with the CT600.
