Adding your Companies House Number and applying for a Presenter ID to file Statutory Accounts

Learn how to enter your firm's Companies House Presenter ID and Auth in TaxOptimiser, and how to apply for credentials if you don't yet have them.

ding a Presenter ID as an accountant firm

To file statutory accounts directly with Companies House, your firm needs to add its Presenter credentials in TaxOptimiser. These credentials authorise the software to submit filings on the firm's behalf.

Where to enter the details

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Firm » Firm Settings.
  2. Open the Companies House tab.
  3. Enter your Presenter ID.
  4. Enter your Presenter Auth (authentication code).
  5. Save your changes.

Don't confuse the credentials

Heads up - The Presenter ID and Presenter Auth are not the same as the Companies House Organisation Authentication Code issued when a company is set up. They are separate credentials, so make sure you enter the Presenter details here, not the Organisation Auth Code.

Presenter credentials authorise your firm's software to file; the Organisation Authentication Code authorises actions on a specific company.

If you don't have a Presenter ID

You'll need to apply for one before you can file. You can apply here: Apply to file with Companies House using software.

The short version

Adding your Companies House Number and applying for a Presenter ID to file Statutory Accounts — in brief

The short version: To file Statutory Accounts with Companies House via TaxOptimiser, add your Presenter ID and Presenter Auth under Firm > Firm Settings > Companies House. Be careful not to confuse the Presenter Auth with the Organisation Auth Code, as they are separate credentials. If you don't yet have a Presenter ID, apply for one through the GOV.UK website.
