SA803

The SA803 is the Partnership Disposal of Chargeable Assets supplementary page to the SA800 Partnership Tax Return. It lists the chargeable assets the partnership disposed of in the period and the proceeds, and nothing more: a partnership is not itself liable to Capital Gains Tax, so each partner works out the gain on their own share.

Definition

The SA803 is the Partnership Disposal of Chargeable Assets supplementary page to the SA800 Partnership Tax Return. It lists the chargeable assets the partnership disposed of in the period and the proceeds, and nothing more: a partnership is not itself liable to Capital Gains Tax, so each partner works out the gain on their own share.

Who completes it

A partnership or LLP that sold, gave away or otherwise disposed of a chargeable asset in the return period: business premises, goodwill, shares, land or investments. Trading stock and assets whose disposal is wholly exempt do not count.

What it asks for

  • Total disposal proceeds (box 4.1).
  • Each asset: a description, whether it was unquoted shares, the proceeds and any further information, on the page’s schedule.

No costs, gains or losses are reported. Each partner’s share of the proceeds goes to statement box 30 on the Partnership Statement, and the partner computes their own chargeable gain or loss on their SA108, with their own annual exempt amount and reliefs.

In Tax Optimiser

The Supplementary step of the SA800 wizard takes a single total in box 4.1 or, with Add disposal, a list of each asset with its description, unquoted-shares tick, proceeds and further information, up to 50 rows. Once disposals are listed, box 4.1 is their calculated total. The page is filed only when it carries figures.
